What is a disaster relief refrigerated trailer?
A refrigerated trailer staged on site so food, medical supplies or other perishables stay cold when the building's own refrigeration stops working. Ours are 12x7', hold -5°F to 50°F+, and can run on generator power so they keep working when the grid does not. They are used for storm response, extended outages, shelters and feeding operations.
Should I book before the storm or wait and see?
Book before. Demand for refrigerated trailers in this region rises roughly thirty-fold in the weeks around a named storm, and the regional fleet is finite. Once a storm has a name and a track, availability disappears in days, not hours. Pre-booking costs you a rental you might not have needed; waiting costs you the inventory.
Do the trailers work without building power?
Yes, with a generator. The trailer itself needs a power source; generator-equipped units are available at additional cost and are the normal choice for storm and outage work, because the whole point is not depending on the building. Tell us when you book that you need generator power.
Can you deliver during or immediately after a storm?
We deliver as soon as roads are passable and it is safe for our drivers. We will not put a crew on a closed highway. This is precisely why pre-staging matters: a trailer already on your lot is working the moment the power fails, with no dependency on road conditions.
Can you provide more than one trailer?
Yes. Multi-unit staging for larger operations, distribution points and municipal response is something we plan around, but it needs lead time. Call early in the season rather than the week of.
How much does disaster cold storage cost?
Rentals start at $200 per day for the trailer, with delivery and pickup included. Generator-equipped units cost more. Weekly and monthly rates are lower per day, which is usually the right structure for storm-season staging.
Do you repair refrigeration equipment after a storm?
No. We are a rental company and we do not perform equipment repairs, ever. We supply the cold storage that keeps your product safe while your own contractor handles the equipment.
How long can a trailer stay on site?
As long as you need. Storm rentals routinely run one to four weeks because power restoration and equipment repair both take longer than anyone expects. There is no maximum.
